A little bit of sewing being done. A couple of simple sand filled door stops for my lovely neighbours. And a stash busting Christmas stocking (idea pinched from somewhere on the internets).

Better Late Than Never
I finally finished my grand niece's Christmas stocking. I tried sewing various types of beads onto the red fabric, but nothing looked right. So plain it stays.

Sewing
Not a LOT of sewing going on here, but I'm making up a Christmas stocking for my little grand niece, using the same style and size as one I made for her brother. I must have had patience when I made it, cos I've sewn lots of tiny beads to the fabric, and embroidered his name to the fold over top. And I've got a whole year to get it done.

Repairing and Storing
I've finally repaired and stored all my Christmas decorations, ready for next time. This little ribbon ball was in a pot as a topiary, but kept falling over, so now it's a hanging decoration. It was an easy way to use up bitty bits of ribbon.

Annie
Little Annie is doing really well. I can't detect any ill effects from her trauma, and she has the cutest puppy ways about her. She's a bit of a glutton and loves to chew everything she comes in contact with, like the Christmas tree, toes, electrical cords and insects. Yesterday she had her first visit to the beach. She also got a clean bill of health from the Dog's Home vet today. I'm trying to get some more photos of her, but being pure black, they come out too dark.

Chasing the Groove
My tree is up and decorated. It helps me get the feel of Christmas. I've still got a lot of sewing to do though, which would get done quicker if I could drag myself off this computer occasionally.

Sewing
I'm still sewing, even if I do forget to take photos. This week it's dog costumes and flag banners for Christmas presents. We're only buying (or sewing in my case) for the children this year. In years past I would sew ALL the presents, which was taking me 3 months of my sewing time. I couldn't keep that up, so this year I only have 5 to make. The dog costumes look sort of weird, but I'm hoping they look better on.

Christmas Sewing
For a lot of years I've been sewing all my Christmas presents, even for hard-to-sew-for fellas (I've been through the boxer short phase, shoe bags and toilet bag phases). This is a carry bag, and part of a Christmas wallhanging made in 2004 from a panel bought from Wells' in Latrobe, and decorated with beads and quilted. Sorry about the bad photography.

Christmas sewing
Some presents made for Christmas this year:

A shirt for a little boy, pattern from Handmade magazine 16-3.
Bear pattern from Handmade magazine 9-2, fabric from Spotlight in Burnie. I would really like to see Spotlight open in Devonport.
