Anyway, I was at Bell's Parade in Latrobe yesterday, and for the first time in the 15 years I've lived up here, I saw at least 2 platypuses playing around in the river. The water was higher than I've seen it for some time, so maybe they were making the most of it. And they were smaller than I thought they would be, and not afraid of people:

ReplyDeleteOh they are just so lovely! We had a couple living very near where we were camping once and it was always really exciting to see them swimming about in their water hole:)
