My Dog of The Week

Athol is a gorgeous border collie who is only 5 years old, but looks a lot older with his colouring.  I love helping with Athol, he's well behaved, smart, snuggly, and very easy to groom.  I can't fault him at all, and just looking at his photo gives me the warm fuzzies.

My sister's favourite this week is Zeus.  He's healthy, active, and full of beans.  He hates being locked in to the cages, and he'll lick the paint off the walls in his frustration.  What he needs is an active family who will give him plenty of exercise at the beach, jogging, playing fetch at the park.  And those eyes don't miss a trick.

The Dog's Home in Devonport had a very busy time recently, after a full page article in the Advocate, which resulted in at least one adoption, Wilson I think it was.  There seems to be so many dogs there looking for homes, and lots of puppies, the most I've seen so far.  One pen had 8 puppies in it, all lined up looking out at me.  A small short haired chihuahua puppy took my fancy too.  She was tiny, cuddly and not at all yappie like some.  She was surrendered because she didn't get along with the family cat, but she'll be snapped up pretty soon I think.

Lots of people donate bags of dry dog food at this time of the year, leaving it inside the gate, so I think I'll do that too.  I've already bought Christmas cards with home dogs photos on them, and lanyards, as well as their calendar.  Every tiny bit helps.
